The extravagant lengths God has gone through to save and redeem His people!
Numbers 21:4-9 Ephesians 2:1-10 John 3:14-21 Today's sermon focuses on the extravagant lengths God will go to in order to save His people. Even in our lesson from Numbers, after all the whining and complaining of the Israelites in the Wilderness, God saves His people from themselves. Many do not see the compassion, mercy, and grace of our Lord in the Old Testament, but it is there even though the Covenant is one of Law and not of Grace. As the Bronze Serpent was raised up, so is Christ in the New Testament to save us in Jesus' Day and Today. The one in the OT foreshadows the greater raising up that would have eternal results more than a physical healing. God is here and willing to go to extravagant lengths to save us from ourselves. This is a message of true and real hope based on our confidence in the God we worship and not based on our merit or any work we might do. Thanks be to God. Amen.
