In Your Anger Do Not Sin
“What causes you to get angry?†Most of us think of people that are irritating or circumstances that don’t go the way we thought they would. You can be provoked to anger, but anger is something that you decide to be. It has been defined as the heart's response in an attitude of sinful disappointment to unmet desires and expectations. It is much more than just an emotion that needs to be managed, it is a moral decision - a response to our circumstances.

The Church & Living Differently Towards Others (Romans 12:9-21)
We all love a good payback movie… seeing someone get vengeance, righting a wrong on their own terms. In this message, our continuation of our study of Romans 12, we’re challenged to live in harmony with others around us, even those who have wronged us. In contrast to the message of payback our culture is promoting, we’re encouraged to overcome evil with good.

Putting Anger To Death
The renewal of the mind in salvation not only brings about renovation of character, but transformation from the old self to the new. This includes one's tendency toward anger. Anger can be either good (righteous) or bad (sinful), depending on motive and purpose. Anger is righteous when it is unselfish and based on love for God and others, but sinful anger is an outward expression of a deeper ailment: pride or lack of faith in God's sovereignty. However, even righteous anger can turn to bitterness and further sin if allowed to continue. Prolonged anger allows Satan a foothold to destroy relationships, and at worst may become hostile. It can even potentially damage the church. The solution to anger is to put away or put off our sinful thoughts and tendencies and put on (replace them with) the thoughts generated through God's word.
