Sermons About Angry
Help Me, I'm Angry
Everybody it seems, is, angry these days. You turn on the cable news shows and instead of getting your fix of news, you get loud opinions, angry shouting, and harsh words. You drive down the road and instead of peacefully enjoying the scenery, you’re subjected to honking, flipping, cutting off. Some go home and instead of finding their castle to be a place of refuge, it’s a place of anger, shouting, threats. One thing that may surprise you is that the Bible doesn’t call anger a sin. In fact, anger is a natural, normal, God-given human emotion. It is uncontrolled anger that is a sin.

Exchanging Lies for Truth
The problem with Israel is our own, it is the gap between what we believe in theory and what we believe in practice. I may agree that God is sovereign (theoretical belief), but slip into deep anxiety when I am afraid or out of control (functional disbelief). What it means to grow in grace is to see the gap narrowed between what I confess to be truth and what I functionally believe in the moment. If it’s true that behind every sin is a lie, we are able to find a road out of the rut of despair and the feeling that our emotions and actions are inevitable. Nehemiah is helping us to see the path of hope in hopelessness, joy in the midst of suffering, and courage to fight our shame and disbelief.

Psalm 90 - Life Is Short
Teach us to realize how short our lives are. Then our hearts will become wise. Life is short but God is eternal. Life is short because man will die. Life is short and God is angry with sin. Life is short and we need to be revived. Let us look to Christ for our work to succeed.

Inside Out Kingdom
A church that lives out of the gospel will be odd and not easily put into a box. Because we’re called to live with an ‘inside-out’ Gospel, we’ll pray and desire to see people coming to Christ and experiencing conversion and grace renewal as they understand the gospel more and more. This makes us seem like a church that is an evangelical church.
