Can There Really Only Be One Religion? (Acts 17:22-32)
We live in a pluralistic world and it only makes sense that people would ask, “How can there only be one religion that is true?” In this sermon, we look at the philosophy behind exclusivism and answer this difficult question.

Clues For God
A series on the Gospel of Mark. Mark is the earliest and shortest of the 4 Gospels that begin the New Testament. It is a biography of Jesus and answers the questions, who is Jesus, what was he like, and why is he worth writing about? This first part of the series examines the claims in Mark 1:1; 1. There is Good News 2. Jesus is the Christ 3. There is a God

Becoming 1 in 1000
My sermon was from the text which has defined my ministry for most of its existence, Job 33:23-24. In this passage, Job has gone through his tragedies and then argued with his three friends for 29 chapters of the book. In chapter 32 a man named Elihu enters the scene and changes the direction of the discussion. I realize that there are different views of this book, but as I read it I see Elihu as an evangelist who brings Job to a right understanding of God and his situation. It is after Elihu's four discourses in chapters 32-37 that God enters the scene and confronts Job Himself. Elihu is also not included in God's rebuke of the other three men. As Elihu describes his ministry he says this, Job 33:23-24 "If there is a messenger for him, a mediator, one among a thousand to man His uprightness, 24 then God is gracious to him and says, 'Deliver him from going down to the pit, behold I have found a ransom!" We need to be ready as Elihu was to speak to the culture whether they are "good" people or not we need to 1. Be a messenger; bring God's message of judgment and of mercy to them. 2. Be a mediator or interpreter; explaining to them that there situation of suffering is God's mercy designed to bring them to repentance and faith. 3. Be 1in1000; the rare individual that is willing and able to perform that task. 4. Be ready to show them that God is righteous even though He makes us suffer because first of all, He is God and has a right over His creation and secondly because He uses suffering to get our attention and draw us to Himself for our benefit. 5. Be ready to show them that this is God's grace 6. Be ready to show them the Ransom, Jesus Christ! We are not all "evangelists," but we are all ambassadors for Christ and we need to be willing and able to reach into the life of our culture, our families and friends with this message and help people who have no idea about what the one true God is like to understand His workings in their lives. I pray that you are inspired and encourage to the task of being 1in100 as you listen.

Embracing Authority
Is Jesus good? Is Jesus powerful? Is Jesus fully satisfying? Is the Gospel true? The answer to each of these questions becomes a basis for either denying or embracing the authority of Jesus. If the answer to all of these questions is "Yes", then there is compelling reason to both embrace and respond to His authority. But, what are the obstacles we face?
