What Elements Need to Be in a Gospel Message Part 2
A Gospel message always focuses on Jesus being God and Jesus being man, his atoning work on the cross and victory through the resurrection. What is most profound in all of this is the fact that Peter tells us about a blanket covering all of our sins in practical ways once we are in Christ. This is called "love" carried out in serving gifts and speaking gifts. Campbell Community and South Bay Area San Jose Churches worship by serving one another with the preparation of the Gospel.

"Yom Kippur" - the Day of Atonement - was the pinnacle of the Jewish festival year. While god-fearing Jews were invited to attend many other sacred events, none could compare with this day! On this day, the sins of the nation were cleared away! The imagery, the sights, sounds, & smells of that day must have formed lasting images in the minds of those who attended. Such pomp & circumstance! But for all it’s ceremony - the sacrifices made that day could never fully pay the penalty or satisfy the debt of sin they had incurred. And next year, they would be back here again. Until Jesus entered... Key Passage: Hebrews 9:11-10:18

John 19:17-42 - The Crucifixion
Crucifixion is the most vicious and shameful form of execution that the world has seen, and because of our sins we all deserve it. Jesus came and endured this awful punishment Himself, and if we trust in Him then our sins are paid for by His sufferings. Just like Jesus obeyed His Father and bore this cross we are to fulfill our part of God's mission for us no matter what we suffer.
