Sermons About Authentic
Live Your Faith
An honest person will admit that every religion or set of beliefs has its hypocrites. The interesting thing is the Bible itself, the heart of Christian teaching, has always acknowledged the problem of hypocrisy and inconsistency in the church. But the answer, according to the Bible, is not less Christianity but deeper Christianity, authentic Christianity. When Martin Luther King Jr. confronted the hypocrisy of racism in the church he didn't call for less Christianity but a more authentic, truer, deeper Christianity. That's the same thing we see in the book of James. This passage has something to say to all of us about what it means to have a faith that is real and alive.

A Word From Heaven
We can trust the authenticity of the Bible because the author is real. We can grow from the testimony of others who have trusted in the Word of God. How does my testimony challenge others to grow? Our life is an encouragement for others to go on and the Word of God we display can shape others. Our personal challenge is to stay faithful to the teachings of scripture. Daily challenge to faithfulness: watch and listen in prayer and refuse to let a day go by without complete dependence on God. Practical purposes of God speaking: we are to be students, we are able to find correction and we are ready to carry out God's program.

Impacting the Workplace
We each work different occupations, but all Christians are first followers of Christ. Do we carry our faith into the workplace? We should be working with integrity since that is how we're to live every aspect of our lives. This includes being authentic in the workplace. Work with passion and pour your heart into your work, just as you are working for the Lord. Work with perspective and remember that our inheritance isn't in this world. If you find you're serving yourself instead of God, you need to invite Jesus into your life because He can help you see that you don't work to make a living, but rather you're making a life to give God the glory.

Practical Religion
Authentic Christianity possesses an intimate relationship between belief and action: it is practical religion because it is meant to be a practiced religion, coming as a response to the gospel, the word of truth.
