Authority Over Evil Forces
We are nearing the end of our “With Authority” series. Today we look at “Authority Over Evil Forces.” As Christians, we recognize the reality of the demonic, of evil forces, and of things that cannot be seen. Jesus' Authority: How Things Get Done in the Kingdom

These are the questions burning at the heart of Mark's Gospel. Join us as we explore the answers to these questions and see what it means, perhaps for the first time, to know and follow Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

Voluntary Ordination
The central thought here is that of a Christian who does not seek his own interests but rather assumes a “voluntary ordination” of himself to God and to others. A true believer submits himself to authority because he is, first of all, submitted to Christ and then he uses his freedom as a tool to proclaim God’s praise (v. 9), an example to others that glorifies God (v. 11) and a means of silencing foolish critics (v. 15).
