Sermons About Authority
What about the Resurrection
Christ is questioned by the elite of his time in an attempt to discredit him. He answers their question with authority and shows the foolishness of their own logic based off of scriptures account of itself.. He declares that God is the God of the living, not the dead and so proves the truth of the resurrection.

The Christian's Offensive Weapon (Hebrews 4:12)
God's Word is living and active and sharper than any two edged sword and its ability to pierce the deepest thought and intention, and lay bare the heart of men is breathtaking. Scripture cuts internally as it convicts in our conscience. Scripture cuts externally as Christians wield it against the lies of the world and everything that rises up against the knowledge of God's Word. In each case it is the all sufficient and authoritative Word of God that will not return to Him void and accomplishing all that He sent it to accomplish.

The Shepherd & Sheeps Accountability (Hebrews 13:17)
God's mandate of responsibility and accountability to shepherd His people involves a principle that bears on and has implications for every relationship in life. The Cross That Conquers You: You Can't Hide at Church
Jesus enters the Temple in Jerusalem and claims authority over religious practices. We often use religion as a place to hide from God. Real Biblical Authority
My purpose in preaching this passage is three fold. I want to preach to myself this morning as the pastor of Grace Fellowship Church and a fellow elder of this congregation. I want to drive these points home in my own heart, mind, and life. I want to look at how important this is for me to devote my life to. Secondly, I want the elders of Grace Fellowship Church to see that this is what marks them out as elders in this church. And that they will have these points driven home in their own lives as well. And third I am preaching this to you the congregation because not only do you need to be able to recognize these biblical characteristics in a church leader but you also need to be appropriating these qualities in your own life as well.

Commercialization of Sex
Since our bodies are the temple of God, we must treat them with respect and dignity. The church must be willing to speak against the use of sex as a marketing tool.

The Removal of Things that Are Shaken
There will be vindication for some but for some there will be great fear and judgment as for all eternity those who are shaken will experience the full wrath of God as He punishes those who have refused His Law and shunned His grace. The warnings of God's wrath are horrible. Anyone who hears the warnings should run to Christ and to the blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel.
