Sermons About Baptism
Sons and Heirs
The gospel brings us a new status- that of sons. Like the Galatians, we can slip back into living like slaves. But the Father sent His Son to redeem us that we might receive adoption as sons, and the Spirit to experience this status subjectively.

What The Bible Says About Baptism
Selected Scriptures Every now and then it is important to revisit what the Bible says about baptism, for what we believe about baptism is based soley on what the Bible teaches rather than on the traditions or denominations of men. In this message, Pastor Ramey covers the five most important questions regarding baptism. In answering these questions, we see that what the Bible doesn't say about baptism is just as important as what it does say. The Five Important Questions: 1. What is baptism? 2. Why should we get baptized? 3. Who should get baptized? 4. How should we get baptized? 5. What are the benefits of baptism? As Charles Spurgeon wrote, "Nothing is more plainly taught in the New Testament than that it is the duty of every believer in Christ to be baptized."

What's the Big Deal?
Wrapping up this series, we look to what the bible says about baptism and how a Christ follower should not be embarrassed but excited about demonstrating the decision they have made. The Christian "rite of Passage" is baptism. Baptism is an outward demonstration of an inward reality. It takes a lot of water. It takes going down into the water, a burial beneath the water and a coming up out of the water. This symbolizes us burying the old and becoming new in Christ.
