Confession: Good for the Soul, Part I: Fault before God
How much do we truly understand our own sin? In this sermon series, we want to look at the power of confessing our sins--and receiving forgivenes--from a pastor or a fellow Christian. But before we can get to confession, we must first come to a fuller understanding of our own sin and sinfulness.

Prophet-able Correction

My "Adams Family" Tree
As familiar as we have become with the basic elements of the Christmas story, there are also a number of "stories behind the story" that have never made the big screen ... radically inclusive and/or exclusive stories taking place in the shadows. Each one carries major implications for how we approach this story, and how we approach the Christ. This weekend we're going to pull back the veil with Matthew as he makes some startling revelations about Jesus' family tree. Breaking with tradition, Matthew chooses to include some highly questionable characters in his list of Jesus' ancestors, and in doing so, I believe he opens the door wide for some of us to walk through ... crazy family trees and all! These are some "grandma stories" you'll never see in a Children's Christmas pagent! Key Passages: 2 Corinthians 5:19 & Psalm 103:12

Sometimes a Winner Needs to Lose
We don’t like losing; we much prefer winning & being successful. However, we should keep in mind that, sometimes, not only can we benefit from losing, but that losing may be just what we need to keep us honest before God. Sometimes a winner needs to lose in order to be a man or woman after God’s own heart.
