The Church of Thyratira: Revelation 2:18-28
In America, most of us have not been physically threatened for our faith. However, like the church at Thyratira, I would argue that most of our greatest temptations to compromise stem from either economic or social pressures. The church today is radically tempted to compromise by valuing the same things that the culture around us values. We serve a God who calls us to consider everything rubbish in order that we might gain Christ and be found in him. We cannot cling to the values of this world and still hold fast to the righteousness of our savior. Jesus offers us himself. Jesus calls us live lives of repentance, constantly letting go of our sin and clinging to his blood, shed on the cross for our sin, to forgive us and give us his perfect righteousness.

“God takes pleasure in his people.” There is no more powerful statement we can believe. With just a mustard seed worth of faith in this truth our lives would turn into songs of joy and . God counts your sin against Jesus and counts Jesus' righteousness toward you. This transaction took place at the cross and comes to you through faith. So believe today! Rest assured today! What's your view?
What we see in life depends many times at where we are looking. At times we can miss the view, we can become focused and moving towards the wrong things. Looking at the wrong things will also change our view of God. If we miss the view we miss the beauty of God and life gets covered in one big dark shady cloud. The challenge is to look again and see even in the pain, struggle and suffering of life the amazing beauty God has painted for us. Key Passage: Psalm 73
