2009.03.01 Living the Dash
Today we begin a new sermon series: "One Month to Live: 30 Days to a No-Regrets Life." We will be asking the question: How would I live today if I knew I only had a month to live? We don't know whether we will have one month or one year or several decades to live, but if we live in such a way that we're ready for either life or death, we will be free to live to the fullest today. Today's sermon, "Living the Dash," is based on Psalm 90:12 - "Teach us to number our days . . ." Have you noticed that tombstones always have 2 years (birth year and year of dying) with a dash between. We have a choice on how we live that "dash," and whether we live in such a way as to please God and leave a lasting legacy for others. We'll look at 4 key aspects of living as we have one month to live. We'll be encouraged to live passionately, love completely, learn humbly, and leave boldly. We'll begin asking ourselves daily, "How would I live my life if I knew I only had one month to live?"
