Sermons about Bitter
"Crazy" co-workers are not irritating, your non-favorite or ones that have had a bad day. They are the ones that are mean-spirited and intentionally make you feel small. So how do you deal with them? Isaac learned from his father, Abraham, that it was necessary and good to wait upon the Lord and rest in him. Isaac was able and obligated to do this because God provides for his children all they need for life and godliness. Such waiting and resting was and still is energized by knowing particular truths connected to such waiting and resting. While God's covenant blessing is a sure and certain reality for God's people, there are particular blessings joined to it that can disappear only to reappear. Still, in the midst of the changing presence of some blessings, God's presence through his word endures with his redeemed covenant people, and with God is the power to live obediently to him. Such power for obedience is what enables God's redeemed children to deal with God's enemies that are not only outside God's covenant community, but also inside it. In learning these lessons we are enabled to wait upon the Lord and rest in him.
