Sermons About Blame
Who Are You Blaming?
In Part 5 of The Garden and The Gospel, Pastor Jeremy challenges us to look at the response of Adam and Eve and ask ourselves, who are we blaming in life? Is it God? Is it other people? Perhaps, it's even the Devil? The response of Adam invites us to look for the greater Adam, the One who will come and not blame His bride, but set out to redeem her.

The Last 'Scapegoat'
The word "scapegoat" has come to mean a person, often innocent, who is blamed and punished for the sins, crimes, or sufferings of others, generally as a way of distracting attention from the real causes. Generally, no one wants to be a scapegoat, just to have one. In Leviticus 16, we come to understand that the Day of Atonement celebrates God cleansing his people from sin through the scapegoat. Jesus is the willing, and final scapegoat & our high priest. We’ve been set free from blaming, compensating, or denying to love as He loved us.

Nobody's Fault But Mine - James 1:13-15
When we do wrong things, there's a tendency to place the blame on anyone or anything but us: our spouses, our parents, our upbringing, our ethnicity, the Devil, or even God himself. In reality, the blame belongs to us and us alone. The sooner we realize and believe that, the sooner we can see that our own sin leads us to death, while God leads us to live through Jesus Christ.
