Sermons about Blessings
"How quickly the surroundings of your life can shift from the security and tranquility of an upper room to the harsh reality of Gethsemane and the cross." That's an unforeseen quote from our "Experiencing God, Day-by-Day" devotional for today, March 22nd, which nicely affirms last night's message. Will you follow Christ, anywhere? Even into your own Gethsemane? Your fruitfulness comes only through your Gethsemane. 65 minutes.
The blessings of a godly family with special emphasis on the wife & children.
While I am sure that I am not the most eloquent speaker, I'm so grateful that God is with me. Someone recently called me a cult leader and right away God's creation answered with a $1,000 gift. When the accuser spoke again, again God made His creation respond with a timely gift (of $10,000!). Almost makes a fella want to be persecuted for sharing the Gospel! Both gifts were given by folk who had not heard me declare Proverbs 22:4 through last week's sermon, "Humility and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life." In last week's "Cut, gutted and skinned" we heard that God wants to make disciples for the purpose of teaching all nations to obey Him. The indisputable answer to the question, "Are you teachable or touchy?" is in the indisputable fruit of your life right now - the fruit speaks of the root, people! The first seven minutes of this sermon contains testimony of Proverbs 22:4 being REALized in the pastor's life - to God's glory, honor, praise and pleasure - confirming the Word with signs that follow as is promised to every true disciple of Jesus Christ. After that, the lesson is offered. Will you learn to obey God? 58 minutes.
Now I'm a Jim Jones?! Really?! That's the accusation. Here's 14 minutes of what I stand for, an excerpt from the most recent sermon delivered in Michigan City, ND. John 15:18 "If the world hates you, know that it has hated Me before it hated you." Listen and YOU BE THE JUDGE!
Jesus said, "Follow Me. I will make you fishers of men." But then what? The fish you catch must be cut, gutted and skinned! This is making disciples, who then become fishers of men - Jesus is Lord of it all. 76 minutes.
The fruit of righteous is living in peace, undisturbed rest and a secure home, no matter what (Isaiah 32:17-20). Does that describe your current way of life? It certainly does not describe America’s present circumstance or course. If you disagree, God will soon make it abundantly plain to you because a great disturbance to this entire nation is on its way. There’s no way to produce the fruit of righteousness in our lives and country without first confronting wrongs and then abiding in the fruit of repentance and the fruit of the Holy Spirit. All of these God-glorifying fruit can only be produced through “acknowledging” God (as described in this message). From the Islamic State (ISIS) to churchianity, “religion” is hated by God...because it’s bad for His creation and stops us all from enjoying the undisturbed rest which has been provided in His existing Kingdom. Would you like to reach out and touch ISIS with repentance, starting today? If enough Americans will do as instructed through God’s Word, ISIS and churchianity can be turned back and destroyed beginning immediately. Religion will not save us from the coming storm. 65 minutes.
I can think of no other way to introduce last night’s sermon than quoting from this morning’s devotionals that I read. I was so comforted when I discovered their content this morning! “Growing through pain...feels more like dying than growing...A spouse who honors marriage vows will confront a straying partner rather than walk away. So too is God’s way with us. At times He will confront our wrongdoing...” (Our Daily Bread & Quest Study Bible). And, “I have found over the years in a ministry of dealing with other people, and also in dealing with my own flesh, that we don't really like to confront wrongdoing as we should. Most of us like to make excuses, but excuses keep us deceived...” (Starting Your Day Right). Finally, “God is love. His very nature is perfect love...” (Experiencing God, Day by Day). Wow – it’s a trifecta, introducing and affirming the Message, to God’s glory, honor, praise and pleasure! 47 minutes.
Last week's message exalted John 10:27, where Jesus assured believers that we could hear His Voice, feeding on His Word. This week Susan ministers, cautioning believers that there is another voice within each of us that seeks to impersonate Jesus and take His place - self! 53 minutes.
