Sermons About Blind
Paul: Impressed by Christ
Paul's life was forever altered when Jesus appeared and called the Pharisee to be his apostle. We, like Paul, are impressed upon by Christ as we live "in Christ," so that the people who touch our lives may see our Lord.

Sharpening Our Focus - Part 4
Imagine being blind and having to rely on someone to lead you everywhere; someone to tell you where to step so you don’t trip or fall, someone to tell you where everything is that you need when you reach out for it. You must trust that person explicitly and live with the frustration of not seeing all that is around you. That is exactly how we live with God. Using the example of those who went before us – the blind man Jesus healed (Mark 8:22-26), Noah, Abraham and Sarah, Pastor Robert teaches us how to have that kind of faith in God.

The Stranger on the Road
The Scriptures teach us that we are all in bondage, we are all enslaved. Jesus came to release us from a much deeper bondage than slavery. This is why Jesus came! Because so many people missed this, they can’t understand why Jesus had to die. They can’t understand what all these facts about Jesus meant. They don’t see themselves in need of spiritual redemption from the bondage of their sin. What about you, do you see you need the kind of redemption that Jesus was bringing? Or are you still hoping that Jesus will bring you redemption from your circumstances? Are you still looking for your vision of redemption?

Sharpening Our Focus - Part 2
When Jesus works in a person’s life, it is custom-tailored to that person. When Jesus healed one certain blind man, instead of an instant miracle, Jesus touched him twice and vision came in stages. What did the man see at first? People “like trees.†Then when he saw clearly, the people were clear as well. Pastor Robert challenges you to notice how Jesus is custom-tailoring his touch on you, and then to notice how you see people after His touch. If you are to carry out His individual plan for you, you need to see people clearly and not “like trees.†If you are to be part of CCC’s 2020 vision, you need to see the people clearly. What do you see?

So That the Blind May See
The Feast of Tabernacles or Booths marked the incoming of the grape and olive harvests. The feast was full of significance in that is spoke of the great harvest of nations. Part of the ceremony was the illumination of the Temple, illustrating the glory of God in the middle of pagan darkness. Into this setting comes Jesus saying, "I am the light of the world". In John 9, with the healing of a man born blind he shows he is the light, as he opens not only the man's physical eyes but his spiritual eyes too.

Feast for the Humble
Most Christians, if we’re honest, might have to confess that the prevailing story that our lives and reality are defined by is not the story of the Kingdom. But this story is comprehensive in scope and it calls for our whole life, our own individual stories, to find their fulfillment and meaning only in its story. Our identity, our purpose, our sense of value, our meaning, our security, our idea of comfort and pleasure are all to be absorbed into this great story that is the true story of the world and our lives.
