Sound The Alarm (Part 1)
The very gifts that God Himself gives to the body of Christ can be misused by man. Though from God, a spiritual gift must mix with man and when it does so, it can become tainted and instead of a blessing it becomes a dagger.
Word Wars
Well let's open our Bibles this morning as we continue our study through an epistle that the Holy Spirit inspired through the apostle Paul just days before he was beheaded by the Roman Emperor Nero b/c Paul is one of the leading Christians of the day who refused to embrace every ick, ism and spasm found throughout the Greek culture ... who could not bow at the Roman altar of pluralism which involved acknowledging Caesar as Lord ... who offended his former Jewish associates by insisting that the reconciliation of man was not found through religious sacrament but through the atoning work of Christ alone ... who as God ... satisfied the just wrath of God for sin ... and as a Man without sin reconciled men of every tongue, tribe and nation who are born again in Him by grace ... through faith in His finished work of redemption. So these are the last words of the apostle Paul on earth. If you only had a short time to live ... what would you say to those ... you loved the most ... knowing you were about to die?
The LIFE Offered by the Resurrection
Easter. We celebrate Jesus' resurrection and the promise of eternal life. Yet God also offers us abundant life as we walk this Earth. Four elements that are the LIFE offered by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
THE KINGDOM AGENDA IN YOUR CHURCH
The crucial question for us is: how do we see our church? The truth of the matter is that the way we see the church will determine how we will relate to it. If we see it as a cruise ship, then we will behave like cruise passengers in the church, thinking only of ourselves. But, if we see it like an aircraft passenger, then we will behave like a cohesive army, conscious of the mission we have received from Christ.
But.... (Contemporary - Sermon)
We are all called to the ministry of building God's kingdom. We are each given gifts for this ministry. Not all are the same but working together we act as one.
But... (Traditional Sermon only)
We are all called to the ministry of building Gods Kingdom and we are each given gifts to work in the church together as one body
Great Accomplishments From Unlikely Sources
Small creatures go great thing with their God-given abilities and teamwork. Ants wisely work hard together in times of plenty. Rock badgers work together for security and livelihood. Locusts work together to compensate for their lack. Lizards use their abilities to attain a lofty home. Similarly, God's people in the local church can do great things with God's gracious gifts and teamwork. For, God gifts us together with the abilities we need, so that as He works through inadequate people like us, we might boast in Him. So, work together with the gifts God has given us and do great things for Him!
God's Gift of the Body of Christ
Part 5. When we are adopted into God's family, He introduces us to the rest of the family, our brothers and sisters in Christ. We are the gift of God to each other.
The Rejection of the King
Sure we’ve all been rejected. Yet there is no one that has experienced rejection on the level that the Lord Jesus did. What was His response to those that refused to receive Him?
