Calling Out Our Best
If spiritual maturity is the goal for every follower of Christ, (and it is!) then spiritual discipline and mentorship must be required. Most of us would not be who we were today without a full complement of people who have poured into our lives. Parents, friends, teachers, coaches, mentors and others have poked and prodded us along the way – encouraged us to be or to become the very best we can be. In the spiritual realm we are told that God gives these gifts of “poking and prodding†as well. He intentionally sends into our lives those people who will help call out the very best in us. The questions we’re left with: Will we respond to the voice of God through these people? Will we allow God to use us like this in someone else’s life? Key Passage: Ephesians 4:11-13
