This Trumpet Blows For You
THIS TRUMPET BLOWS FOR YOU NEW YEARS MESSAGE 2008 Scripture: Luke 4:14-21 The blowing of the trumpet at New Years was a big deal! All debts were to be cancelled. (Deuteronomy 15:1-6) Slaves were offered their freedom. (Deuteronomy 15:12-18) The “LOVE SLAVE” had a big decision to make. (Deuteronomy 16) The land was given a year of sabbatical of rest. (Leviticus 15:3-6) Property was restored back to the original owner. (Leviticus 25:8-12) Jesus makes a big deal about blowing the trumpet for you! (Verse 18) If you really want to change your situation you can! If you experience any kind of bondage you can be set free! If you want to know the truth you can experience freedom! If you are oppressed (bruised) you can be healed! Every day is a day in the “Year of our Lord’s Favor” (Jubilee)! (Verse 19) “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

Freedom is Coming to Bondage
The purpose of Advent is to look back to Christ's first coming and look forward to his promised second coming. We begin our celebration of Advent by looking back to the freedom Jesus brings to our bondage and looking forward to the freedom he will bring to all of creation. Listen in as we reflect on the bondage we are born into and the freedom Jesus brings.
