Sermons About Boredom
Transformissional Calling Part II (SDSU)
Last week we talked about our need for purpose and meaning as creatures, and without purpose, meaning and value we easily slip into boredom and apathy. One causes us to feel indifferent to things around us, another causes us to feel indifferent to ourselves or someone else, but both leave us with a desire for desires.

John 1:43-51 - This is Jesus: The Unlikely King from Nazareth (Part 2)
My friend—if you are skeptical of Jesus, listen to his own words, see what is revealed in this Gospel and believe in him. My friend—if you are unimpressed with Jesus, how can you be? How can you be bored with the Son of Man? You must repent. You need to be changed. You need to come to trust in the one that was lifted up to die. Brothers and sisters—we who believe in Jesus should be amazed at this man Jesus. He came down from heaven to be a man from Nazareth—despised, rejected, a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief, lifted up to die on our behalf. But, he is also the Son of Man, our Glorious King who comes again to bring all his ransomed people home. How can we not cry, “Hallelujah, what a Savior!”

Transformissional Calling (SDSU)
The last couple of weeks we’ve looked at Paul’s radical conversion, his calling by Christ to give His life away. We’ve attempted to see what true conversion looks like and what true conversion believes. We are going to take a couple of weeks and teach on the subject of calling. It is perhaps the most distorted and misunderstood doctrine in the Church today and we need to recapture the idea of calling.
