God’s Gifts at Christmas Part 2: God’s Gift Exchange . . . he will give a crown of beauty for ashes, a joyous blessing instead of mourning, festive praise instead of despair. Isaiah 61:3 (NLT) I. When we give God our WORRY, God gives us his PEACE “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.†Matthew 6:34 (NIV) “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.†1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) “I am leaving you with a gift - peace of mind and heart! Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV) II. When we give God our GRIEF, God gives us his JOY “You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy.†Psalm 30:11 (NLT) “. . . weeping may remain for a night, but rejoicing comes in the morning..†Psalm 30:5 (NIV) “You will grieve, but your grief will turn to joy.†John 16:20b (NIV) How? “But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
