Bread of Heaven
By having us ask God the Father bread every day, Jesus gives us a way to remember that God is our provision. We are usually pray this prayer, heads bowed, eyes closed, using 16th century words like “hallowed be thy name.” But maybe it would make more sense for us to pray this petition with our eyes open and our heads thrown back, and our mouths open wide like baby birds demanding their share of the worm.

I AM - The Bread of Life
Throughout history there have been many theories put forward about who Jesus was and is. Who do you think he is? What if Jesus had to describe himself? The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread-Part Three
Let’s review how Jesus got here so we can understand the gravity and the meaning of the words that follow. But the crowds wouldn’t let him. They followed him to that remote place. So Jesus, who had compassion on those who were seeking him, continued his teaching. Then, he took a little boy’s lunch and fed 5,000 men, probably 20-30,000 individuals. He was at the height of his popularity here. In fact, he was so popular, they wanted to make Jesus king.

The Greatest Thing Since Sliced Bread-Part One
.......Then, in a stunning move, Jesus tamped down the crowd’s expectations of him to be king, sending them away and sending the disciples to the other side of Galilee, mainly to avoid getting caught up in the Kingdom fervor. Jesus’ kingdom, remember, was and is not of this world. His first mission was to be the sacrifice for sins. One day he’ll come back and be, not only the king of the Jewish nation, but the King of the World. He will set up His Kingdom.
