Sermons About Burden
Nehemiah (#1): Reality & Reaction
Jerusalem's walls were broken down and God's people were in trouble. In this desperate context, God moves on the heart of a leader named Nehemiah. But, before Nehemiah sets out on his mission of rebuilding the city walls, he first must feel and understand the burden and importance of the task before him.. As we study Nehemiah's reaction to his reality, we learn much about how we should react to our reality in our lives and city.

Giving and Grace
The Law no longer condemns us and it no longer curses us. Instead the law has become the way we learn what it looks like to be fully human. It is now nothing to fear, but something we learn of so that we might follow Jesus in response to His grace. The Spirit now shows you how Jesus lived up to the law instead of condemning you and convicting you in all the ways you’ve failed to live up. When you fail, you’re failing to live like who you truly are in Jesus. You’re already seen by the Father as keeping the law, there’s no need to use it to get His favor.

Potential For Greatness
Saul is chosen as the first king of Israel and these early chapters show the potential he had to be a great king. He was physically impressive, teachable, changed by God, used by God, brave and forgiving. However, the latter part of his reign was completely different from his early potential. This shows us appearances can be deceiving, the roots of sin are in each of us, and we need a true and faithful King.

Am All Loving
Think of your favorite dish. Is there someone who should taste and see how good it is? God's love is like that. It has to be tasted to be believed. Sometimes it's easier to be ok with the belief that God loves the world. Yet we struggle with the idea that He loves us individually. But if He is all-loving, then I can experience His love regardless of how I feel. If God is all-loving, then I can invite other's to experience His love. Who would we be praying for?

Jesus Our Sanctification V.3 - Part 8
Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. - Matthew 11:28-30
