Are You Ready? -Overview of Malachi-
Overview of Malachi Malachi 1:1 God’s last Old Testament message to His earthly people Israel is directed to the remnant that returned from the Babylonian captivity. This remnant had totally failed during the decades after the return in their testimony for God. It is true that the Jews did no longer serve the idols as they did before the exile, but their moral condition was marked by indifference, despising of God and unbelief. Into this situation God declares His unchanging love for the people and points out their sins and their departure from His commandments (Mal. 1 – 2). But God also announces to the Jews that severe judgments will come upon them before he sends his next prophet to usher in the coming of Jesus Christ. (Mal. 3 – 4). Over the next couple months we will examine this ancient message and learn principles and commands that remain true today. The book of Malachi is truly an “Ancient Truth for Modern Times”

Follow Me...Love Jesus
The words "Follow Me" rang loud and clear at different times in the disciples' lives. Early after a year of watching Jesus the four fishermen, Peter, James, John and Andrew left everything in order to follow Him, Matthew left his tax booth at once. Now in John 21 those words rang loud and clear with a sense of restoration and reinstatement and forgiveness.

The Romans: A Work of God (Romans 1:7-15)
Paul concludes his introduction to Romans with a more personal note. He reminds the Romans that they are loved by God and called by God -- that God's claim on their lives and His grace to them is their fundamental reality. Paul gives thanks to God for the Romans and their faith, reminding them that all they have is from God. Lastly, Paul communicates his longing to see the Romans and share in God's work among them. Paul is aware that God's claim on his life gives him the privilege and responsibility of preaching that gospel to the lost.

The Calling, The Leaven, and The Offense
In Chapter 5 the Apostle Paul declares our radical freedom and then raises frustration over the false teachers in Galatia. So angry is Paul that he wishes they would emasculate themselves. Along with this frustration is a reminder to the Galatians. A reminder that this persuasion of the Gospel is not from him who calls them. In this message pastor Lundmark examines three areas mention in this section. The Calling The Leaven and The Offense.

Transformissional Gifts (SDSU)
Over the last few weeks we’ve been looking at this great topic of calling, what it is, what it means, and how it works out in our lives. Our hope is that we would come away from these messages recognizing that our call to God is primary to all other secondary callings we may sense or experience in our lives.

Calling (Acts 6:1-7)
Satan sought to destroy the early church by distracting the apostles from their calling to preach the gospel. He failed in that attempt, but often succeeds today in getting members of the body distracted from their calling. What is the nature of calling? Does each individual have a unique calling? How do we discover our calling? Answering these questions affects not only individuals, but the gospel community.

Transformissional Calling Part II (SDSU)
Last week we talked about our need for purpose and meaning as creatures, and without purpose, meaning and value we easily slip into boredom and apathy. One causes us to feel indifferent to things around us, another causes us to feel indifferent to ourselves or someone else, but both leave us with a desire for desires.

Transformissional Calling (SDSU)
The last couple of weeks we’ve looked at Paul’s radical conversion, his calling by Christ to give His life away. We’ve attempted to see what true conversion looks like and what true conversion believes. We are going to take a couple of weeks and teach on the subject of calling. It is perhaps the most distorted and misunderstood doctrine in the Church today and we need to recapture the idea of calling.

Three Years later he shows up in Jerusalem claiming to be an Apostle! This morning we will learn that God's calling is above the approval of man, requires training, and results in God's Glorification. Galatians 1:17-24

Who Are You?
Samson's strength came from God but he didn't take his calling seriously. He dismissed God's power as if it were magic or a superstition. When we look at our own lives, are we acknowledging God and staying true to our calling as Christians?

Walking Worthy . . . For Others (Ephesians 4:1 - 5:2)
We are to walk worthy of the calling that brought us from death and wrath to being a forgiven child of God. Overwhelmingly, Paul describes this manner of walking in terms of our relationships: we are to walk in unity, play our part in the body of Christ, and put on the new man -- which is itself described in terms of bringing grace and encouragement and grace to one another.
