Sermons about Calm
Today, Pastor Michael teaches about how peace is not just the absence of trouble and turmoil from our lives; it is the calm assurance in the midst of the trouble and turmoil in our lives. Peace is a state of being where we are calm in the heart and mind despite the fact that storms rage around and against us. Peace truly does transcends all understanding.
When caught in the mother of all storms the disciples declare, "don't you care that we are perishing?" Jesus responds by calming the sea and demonstrating his great concern not just for this storm, but also an even greater storm.
Luke 8:22-25- Jesus and The Storms
Every storm in life is an opportunity to discover afresh that the Lord of all creation cares for you.
After calming the storm with the disciples, Jesus encounters a man with a legion of demons inside of him. Jesus can bring calm even in the midst of the chaos that comes from our own bad decisions.
If Jesus is able to calm a real storm of wind and waves, how much more is he able to calm the raging storms that beset us? If Jesus can bring peace to a wild Sea of Galilee, how much more can he bring peace to the troubled waters of our lives as well?
Depend fully on God, do not seek to take care of problems by yourself. The Father is always in control and as long as you let Him deal with the issues, you can experience peace even in the midst of great tempests.
What is peace? Where does peace come from? How can I obtain peace? Pastor Don Weemes shares answers from the Word on this subject.
