The theological understanding of the day regarding Jesus’ entry into Jerusalem said that Jesus was the triumphant King coming to liberate the Jewish people from Roman rule. Jesus on the other hand saw it as fulfillment of His mission of the salvation for the world. He came to this time and place to die for the people who are expecting Him to become their earthly king.
