God cannot fail us if we accept the invitation extended to us (and all people). Jesus said: "Let us go over to the other side" (vs 35). This is the invitation. The apostles had no idea what was going to happen, just as we do not know what God has in store for our lives. But faith tells them they will get safely to the other side. No matter what happens in our life; If God says so, so it will be!
It is clear why Jesus came to live on Earth; to save His people from sin. In today's culture this is harder and harder to teach, as the world tries to make Jesus what they want Him to be. And then when disaster strikes, they wonder why "He allows this to happen".
If we do not understand the birth (nativity) of Christ, we do not grasp the significance of Christmas. It is NOT what the world made of it (presents, gifts and Santa), but it is the most single significant event in history. The birth of Jesus was not the beginning. It was the culmination of God's work in all previous generations. God looked upon the world and was so appalled by our behavior that He send His only Son to die for our sins! Has the birth of Jesus Christ touched your soul?

It is the outward showing of what is happening in the heart. You HAVE to turn away from your old life and start living according to God's Word (Galatians 5:16-18)
