Let's Face It: Domestic Violence
Synopsis: Violence begins in the heart and the mind and not in the mouth or the fist. Jesus challenges us to address the state of our heart. Domestic violence is a world wide social concern that must be addressed on all levels. Scripture: Luke 6: 43-45 (NCV) 43 "A good tree does not produce bad fruit, nor does a bad tree produce good fruit. 44 Each tree is known by its own fruit. People don't gather figs from thornbushes, and they don't get grapes from bushes. 45 Good people bring good things out of the good they stored in their hearts. But evil people bring evil things out of the evil they stored in their hearts. People speak the things that are in their hearts. Points: I. Every Relationship should have a line in the sand. II. Scripture: Acts 4 31-35 31 After they prayed, the place where they were meeting was shaken. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God boldly. 32 All the believers were one in heart and mind. No one claimed that any of his possessions was his own, but they shared everything they had. 33 With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and much grace was upon them all. 34 There were no needy persons among them. For from time to time those who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the money from the sales 35 and put it at the apostles' feet, and it was distributed to anyone as he had need. Points: I. Unity II. A Common Goal III. All were Blessed
