Why Reconciliation Matters
Today, we consider the importance of being reconciled in our relationship with God. Do we even need to be reconciled? How can we be reconciled, and what difference does this make? In this message, we will consider these very questions.
Jesus First
The church at Colossae had lost sight of what matters most. As Paul gets to the heart of the letter in v15, he starts by restoring their view of Jesus. Yes, they believed in Jesus but they had an inadequate and incomplete view of Jesus and so they had inadequate and incomplete resources to deal with the challenges, questions and struggles they faced as Christians in every day life. They were saying, "Of course, we start with Jesus... but what else do we need?" Col. 1:15-20 gives us a majestic picture of who Jesus is so that he might be restored and re-restored to the place of supremacy in all our lives and so that we would find in Him everything we for all of life.
Praying for What Matters
In our passage, the Apostle Paul gives a prayer for how our lives ought to be when Jesus matters most. Consider the incredible difference Jesus makes in one’s life!
