Like so many of us today, the Christians in Colossae often wondered if Jesus -- if the Gospel they had come to believe in -- was really enough to meet their needs, not only for eternity, but for the here and now. This week, we look at verses 9 through 14 of Colossians 1 and see that Paul tells them (and us) that yes, Christ provides everything we need, and we can ask God with confidence for everything that he has already provided to us.

They were a relatively new church, living in a pluralistic society with all sorts of viewpoints, religions, and philosophies that competed with Christ for their allegiance.
