Acts 16:11-40 - Choosing Mission Over Comfort
Paul and Silas brought the Gospel of Jesus Christ to Philippi, where their ministry ended up inciting a mob and getting them beaten and thrown in prison. While in prison God miraculously freed Paul and Silas from their cells and their jailor came to faith in Christ. Paul and Silas were able to persevere through such difficult circumstances because they were more concerned with the good news about Jesus being told than they were with their own comfort, so much so that they could even sing and pray while chained up deep in a Roman prison, and we too should pursue the mission of sharing the Gospel over our own comfort.

Acts 10:1-33 - Leaving Our Comfort Zones
God asked Peter to go and visit a Roman soldier to tell him about Jesus, but first Peter had to get over his aversion to interacting with people from other nations because they were ceremonially unclean. Haggai 1:1-15 - Getting Back on Mission
Haggai was a prophet sent by God to confront the Israelites because they were more concerned with building their own luxurious houses than they were with rebuilding God's temple and seeing His glory. In our day in age we also make this mistake of pursuing our own comfort, leisure, and luxury instead of laying down our lives for the sake of the Gospel and God's Glory. It is foolish for us to do this because we were created to see God's glory, and when He asks us to sacrifice things for Him so that we can see His glory He is asking us to trade up.

There is no "Plan B" - Romans 8:28-30
“Predestination.†The word by itself is enough to evoke strongly negative and positive reactions from an equal number of people. But what is predestination? What does the Bible have to say about it, and what does it mean for the Christian and the Church? Can the idea of predestination actually be of comfort? This week, we take a look at Romans 8:28-30, where Paul delivers the comforting news to the Roman church that they are among God’s chosen people, forever secure in Christ.
