Sermons about Commandments
“Religion = Rules" Isn’t that what comes to mind most often when we think of God? We imagine an angry, vengeful God peering over the boundaries of Heaven from his eternal throne, watching… looking… trying to see us make a mistake so he can smite us. The popular perception is this: God’s primary job is to punish failure. Don’t we hear that viewpoint all of the time? Every time a tragedy happens someone says it is God’s discipline. But there has to be more to the story of God and us, right? Is he really only interested in crime and punishment? Perhaps better understanding his rules will help us better understand the Rule Maker.
The New/Old Commandment is to love one another.
Everyone ought to know the will of God for their lives.
