Communication
Communication is such a key aspect of our relationships! How can we make sure what we say is the right thing to say?

My Sister's Keeper
Movies speak to the reality of who we are as people and the things that captivate our hearts and minds. Reel2Real: Harvest Pointe @ The Movies is a sermon series using movies as a backdrop to teach some fundamental truths. Each week we will peak behind the curtain and see the underlying issue that each movie is dealing with and seek to discover what the Bible has to say about these issues. Join us as we seek to go from reel to real in our relationship with Jesus Christ. If you are wondering why we would pick these movies, please know that we are not advocating that you go and see every movie on the list of “Harvest Pointe @ The Movies”. Do your homework (visit www.previewonline.org for a review) and then go and see the movie if that is your decision. We use these movies as a launching place or theme for relevant discussion.

The Battle for the World
This world is enemy occupied territory. We hear the enemy's message from everyone around us; teachers, politicians, media. Even Christians, who have been freed from satan's grip, are still under his influence. We are like soldiers who have been dropped behind enemy lines; we have three options: 1. go over to the other side, 2. hide our true identity and try hard not to be noticed, or 3. engage in the fight, confident in the weapons and armour of our Lord and King. How do we fight? With the Word of God. Paul's speech to the Atheneans is nearest to our situation. We need to speak in terms that our audience relates to, using language that they understand and illustrations that they recognise. Our aim is to save these people, to turn our enemies into our friends by changing their minds and therefore their values. Love these people with God's love (and will and strength), so that they in turn will fall in love with God through us.

Words
In Matthew 12:33-37 Jesus tells us that there's good words and evil words, that our words will show whether we are saved or condemned, and how our words can be changed from evil to good.

Resolving Family Conflict
The apostle Paul told the Ephesians that they could turn conflict into communication and understanding through the power of Christ’s forgiveness and love. We can resolve the conflicts in our relationships and turn them into quality communication and understanding through Christ’s power of love and forgiveness.

The Sower, the Seed and the Soil
Jesus tells this parable to help the disciples understand the realities of ministry, and to warn the people to listen to God carefully lest the Word not bear fruit for the kingdom in their lives.

Communication Craziness - Sustainable Marriages #2
What do you want for your marriage? Want some peace? Want to feel closer? We all want a marriage that works, but let's face it, things don't always go as smoothly as we'd like. When spouses aren't in synch, things can get crazy. How do you break the conflict cycle when it gets rolling? Studies show that communication is enormously significant in developing marital stability, so how do we grow in our talks with one another? We want to experience sexuality that is beautiful and God-designed for our enjoyment. We want to love more deeply at the end than we did at the beginning. We want to pass along a family heritage of love and respect to our children. Join us as we explore what God's Word says about making marriage last. [Note: Some material taken from Dr. Emerson Eggerichs's book Love and Respect.]
