The apostle Paul, while visiting churches in Macedonia, writes to one of his disciples, Timothy who is pastoring the church at Ephesus about how to do church right. In chapter 3 he gives him instruction as to what the character of leaders in the church (elders and deacons) ought to be; ch. 4 he addresses what a pastor is to do; ch. 5 how older women are to disciple younger women in the church; and this week he addresses issues having to do with the relationship between full-time elders or pastors and their congregation.
