Sermons about Compensation
The apostle Paul, while visiting churches in Macedonia, writes to one of his disciples, Timothy who is pastoring the church at Ephesus about how to do church right. In chapter 3 he gives him instruction as to what the character of leaders in the church (elders and deacons) ought to be; ch. 4 he addresses what a pastor is to do; ch. 5 how older women are to disciple younger women in the church; and this week he addresses issues having to do with the relationship between full-time elders or pastors and their congregation.
Ronnie explains the rights of Paul to receive compensation for the work that he did spreading the gospel. However, Paul never expected compensation, he always gave freely and freely accepted support in return.
Paul the apostle is an example to us of giving up our rights for the sake of people.
The goal of confession is not a change in behavior; it is a complete change of heart. Listeners will be challenged to confess to God and another trusted person.
