Sermons About Confession
The Church (Part 1)
Adam preaches Matt. 16:13-20, the very first mention of the Church in the New Testament and from Jesus. The person of Christ rightly grasped, as Peter did and evidenced in his magnificent confession, stands as the unshakeable support of the church.

Who Do You Say I Am? (Mark 8:27 - 9:1)
Peter's confession that Jesus is the Christ -- and Jesus's response -- tell us so much about Jesus and his role. We see that He is the Son of Man and the Lord of all, but also the suffering servant. We see the miracle of the incarnation -- God become flesh. We see his work as our redeemer, humbling himself in suffering, sacrifice and death so that he might bring about our life and glorification. The only appropriate response, then, is for us to worship and obey him -- not so that we might earn his favor, for he has done perfectly for us what we could never accomplish. Rather, we submit ourselves to him in faith, joy and gratitude for who he is and what he has done for us. We are thus called to follow him by denying ourselves and dying to sin.

Love-Based Boldness
Those who follow Jesus will often find themselves going against the flow of this broken world. How shall we act when opposition, or humiliation, or even persecution stands in our path? Jesus says "Be bold, and identify fully with Me remembering that I love you, and will never, ever abandon you, not now, and certainly not in the world to come!"

HYPOCRITE
Hypocrisy is not new. Jesus confronted hypocrisy but majored on the majors. What does it look like to follow His lead? How do we confront the hypocrite? CAREFRONTING must be done with caution, restoration as the goal, & commitment to the other person. Seeing our own hypocrisy begins with honesty and moves to confession with God.

Enter into Paradise
There is a deep longing in all of us for 'paradise'. True paradise is fellowship with God through Jesus. We receive it as we confess Christ and receive His benefits. Are we living daily in true confession?

Managing Emotions
Our emotions are a gift from God. Expressed in a proper manner, emotions make life beautiful, rich, full, eliminate monotony and contribute much to both the enjoyment and effectiveness of living. Negative emotions can also be responsible for some of the greatest tragedies in life. Whether our lives are meaningful or miserable may be directly related to the health of our emotions.
