Sermons About Confidence
Living With Confidence
God wants us to be confident. He has given us a whole group of Psalms that are called Psalms of Confidence. The 23rd Psalm is one of these. God intended that as we read, sing and meditate on these Psalms that they would instill within us confidence. In Psalm 23, this confidence comes from knowing that God is our shepherd and host, and as such, we will have everything that we need.

It's a Heart Thing
1 John 3:20-21 says, “For if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and knows all things. Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward Godâ€. Confidence and condemnation are polar opposites, with opposite effect. When we’re confident we draw near. When we’re condemned we draw back. But, both, confidence and condemnation have this in common – they are purely subjective. They are subjective experiences of the heart based on what is believed to be true – objectively. Condemnation comes from believing the lie of the accuser, whereas confidence comes from believing the truth of God’s righteousness. Condemnation is the anticipation of rejection. Confidence is the anticipation of acceptance. It’s a heart thing.

Having Confidence to Enter
Confidence is one of the most precious things we can have. It’s a major handicap to lack confidence. Yet, there is a kind of confidence that God hates. To be rightly confident in the world we must first be rightly confident before God. There is only one right source of godly confidence; the righteousness which is by faith in Christ Jesus.

Biblical Faith Trusts in the Sovereign Hand of God
Biblical saving faith clings to the truth of the sovereignty of God. In our verse this morning clinging is fleshed out in two ways: 1. Clinging to the truth of the sovereignty of God will cause you to cut across the grain of what society tells you for the truth of what God tells you. 2. Clinging to the truth of the sovereignty of God will cause you to correctly defy ungodly leadership.
