Jesus' Words of Life
Jesus' parables were a way that get past our defenses and straight to our hearts. This parable in Mark 4:1-20 does just that : the parable of the sower. Our response to the Word reveals which "seed" we are in this parable. Listen to learn more practical application for your life.

Our Desires and Jesus' Control
Mark 3:20-35 Our reaction to the person of Christ requires action of us: either rejecting His claims, or embracing His Lordship. Indifference is not a plausible, logical, or valid response. How have we distorted who Christ is in our own lives? Are we deceived and missing out on the fullness of life in relationship with Christ?

Paradise Lost: The Drift of People and Nations
The Bible is not simply a book, it is a library - a sacred library, with a stunning God-designed unity. While its 66 books were written over 60 generations by 40 authors on 3 continents from all walks of life, it presents a unified picture of God’s plan and purpose for our world. Its story-line extends from creation to the recreation of a new heaven and earth.  It’s a story that impresses us with its diversity, but also with its unity. As we read through the Bible in 90 Days we have that rare privilege of overview. But we also have questions. How were people saved under the old covenant? What is a covenant? How are we to understand the law? What is the deal with sacrifice? Is God in control? How does he reveal himself?  For some of us this reading is pulling things together, for others it is challenging our view of God. Today in the Word we begin a series of messages focused on some of those big themes of the Bible that tie it all together and take us to Revelation 22. We begin with the beginning - paradise and paradise lost.

Out of Control
Are you the kind of person that wants the steering wheel, must have the T.V. remote control, and have the final word on the restaurant? You know… needs to be in charge? Well, maybe you don’t have it that bad, but all of us, to a certain extent, like control. But, what happens when we discover our control is not working, our plans are failing and our resources are depleted? You may not believe it now, but that is a good place! Why? Because it is at that point God can get our attention. He has aplan, but God’s plan calls us to do what seems counter-intuitive… SURRENDER!

Acts 27
In life, circumstances are always changing. Our circumstances are always changing. Our perceptions of our circumstances are always changing. So unless we have the eternal perspective that comes from God's word, we will be like sifting sand...we will be like a boat on wind-blown waves that's being tossed around. The reality is is that our life is in God's hands.
