Sermons About Control
At His Feet
Jesus teaches all of us that it isn’t the big events that are going to really change who we are. The big events don’t make us, they simply reveal what the daily habit of our hearts really are like. Big events don’t give us time to contemplate; whatever is in our hearts comes out. It’s all of the little things. It’s the mundane and monotonous duties of life, the daily routine that God is most concerned with transforming. To desire real, lasting change is to commit to a lifetime of daily change in all the little ways.

Influencing Our Culture
How can we effect change? Preach the word. Proclaim the truth. Speak the truth in love. We as a church are great for talking about what we are against. Prepare to speak about what we are for. Encourage patience, teach control. Be prepared to be the Christ like example for any non-believer.

Celebrating God's Goodness
After Hannah is blessed with the birth of Samuel, she dedicates him and then offers a prayer of thanksgiving to God. She rejoices over his deliverance, rests in his control, trusts in his knowledge of her situation, and hopes in God’s plan. We are encouraged to do all those things as well, but the focus of the passage is the “anointed one,†Jesus Christ.

Bad News to Good People
There are two parables we’re going to discuss, one of them about two sons and the other about vineyard managers working for a master in another country. Both of these stories have a similar theme and work to draw us to very bad news for very good people.

Out of Control and Anxious
We like to be in control of our lives because we feel that being in control will protect the things that are most important to us. When we lose control of a situation we often get anxious. We should not get anxious when a situation is out of our hands because it is still in God's hands. When we worry it is because we have stopped trusting that God will provide for us. The Bible teaches us that we should cast our anxieties on God because He cares for us as a loving Father and He has promised to provide for our needs.

God Makes (#2 of 2)
God Controls - Providence & Sovereignty Is God completely in control of all things? And if he is, how can our actions have real meaning, and how can we really be blamed for anything? Providence means that God is continually involved with everything he created, maintaining creation and at the same time fulfilling his purposes. We will consider how this truth should affect our lives on a daily basis.

Genesis 22
We all have those areas in our lives that are ours, and no one else, not eve God has any input. Although God gives us countless opportunities over the course of our journey to hand them over to Him, we still refuse to surrender those particular areas. The great news is that GOd will continue to pursue us until we learn that life is best lived with Him in total control. God allows each of us to be in situations where we can choose to surrender, but do we?
