What Does It Cost To Give Thanks?
Daniel was the target of deceitful decree. His enemies knew if they were ever to ensnare him, they would have to find issue with his service to God, and so they made it illegal for him to pray. When Daniel knew the decree was made law, he went to his usual spot, opened the window toward Jerusalem and prayed and gave thanks to God. He was well aware of the cost of his decision, and he still gave thanks. What can we glean from example of this grateful man?

The Gospel is...
The goal of the Gospel is to create a Christ-treasuring community that is empowered by the Gospel for purpose of mission together. It is how God has chosen to show off His glory and make His grace known to our hurting and broken world. Lets look at the gospel and then start to talk about it’s implications for our shared lives. “Jesus Christ, God’s promised Rescuer and Ruler, lived our life, died our death and rose again in triumphant vindication as the first fruits of the new creation to bring forgiven sinners together under His gracious reign as His Kingdom People.”

When we think of revival, we often only desire the fruit of revival in seeing people come to Christ and hearts opened to Him. Faith... What is that all about?
Faith is believing the promises of God and acting on them. Needing to understand that if it is impossible to please God without faith, I need to know the promises of God for myself. What comes is a life of conviction and the ability to percieve things from an eternal viewpoint.

Biblical Repentance 4 - A Keen Awareness of Our Sinfulness
My purpose in preaching this passage is to show you that we should be constantly aware of our sin and our need for God to show us our sin. Plus I want you to understand that David’s reaction is the proper reaction when we are shattered by the breaking of the Law of God. From our Psalm 51:4 I want you to see that there are two understandings that come when God is so gracious to reveal to us our sinfulness. 1. We understand the insidious nature of sin. 2. We understand the righteousness of God in the punishment for sin.

Joyful Mourning (Matthew 5:4)
The world defines blessedness, happiness, contentment, in the things of this world. However, it is it not the things of this world that account for true blessedness, but having the assurance of grace, forgiveness, joy, satisfaction, and a relationship with God in the next. That is true blessedness and it is that which the Lord addresses in the Sermon on the Mount. The blessedness that the Lord speaks of runs counter to the thinking and philosophies of men, because it is the blessedness that is God-centered. The promises of those in the Kingdom are rich, but before they can be had there needs to be an inner transformation; there must be a humbling of yourself before God; there must be genuine repentance. The introduced the first element of this genuine repentance with the stunning statement: “blessed are the poor in spirit;”

Communities of Renewal: Renewed Minds and Hearts
The bible describes those who prefer sinfulness and rebellion as darkened in their understanding, as having a hardness of heart toward the truth of the gospel. As Christians we are given a regenerated heart, an enlightened heart that is renewed and transformed by God and the scriptures. This new heart removes a spirit of fear and places in a desire to worship God.
