Counseling in the Body of Christ - 3
We're engaged in an enormous spiritual battle, and the call of God is that we help one another fight well. The battle tempts us to fight badly, but God has given us one another to help us not fall into the trap of fighting that way.

Heading the Wrong Direction
It is just as important to know how not to do something as it is to know how to do it. In the Bible God warns of ways you should NOT seek guidance for your life. If you heed these warnings, you will not waste time with non-Biblical methods of guidance of which God does not approve. This will prevent you from making bad decisions and heading the wrong direction in life.

Sacred Psalms: Psalm 46
Matt McKinney is our teacher today. He is married to Lindsay and will be celebrating their five year Anniversary in August. Together they have one daughter, Riley who will celebrate her first birthday July 22nd. Lindsay is originally from Texas whereas Matt is from North Carolina but moved to Texas soon after they met. They have been living in the Dallas area for over five years and joined The Ridge around three years ago. Matt serves as an elder here at The Ridge and a Biblical Counselor at Hope For The Heart in Dallas where he continues to work on his license as a Professional Counselor. Lindsay serves as a pediatric Nurse at Children's Medical Center in downtown Dallas. As we continue our Sacred Psalms Series today, Psalm 46 will challenge and encourage us with a new perspective on how we view God and ourselves in times of trouble, regardless of our fears or circumstances.

Care for all
MPs are in serious trouble with the public; many now have an even greater dislike of leaders. In 1st Century Ephesus Paul is troubled by the leadership in the church – so he sends Timothy. He insists that leaders should be walking properly with God – that’s why ch 3 on character requirements of leaders is what we might call, the “normal Christian life”. Presumably the leaders here were below par. You see, every letter is written to a specific situation – which we must first explore, before we extrapolate the principles good for all times – and especially for us today. What do we learn? 1. Treat all people with proper respect 2. Discern where there is genuine need – don’t be fooled by those who shout loudest, or protest the most strongly. 3. Encourage families to look after their own 4. Help those who are godly.
