Sermons About Creation
God: Revealed!
God has declared Himself to mankind through the creation. The fact that we exist points unmistakeably to a Creator who existed before it and is not of it and has the ability to create it. Common sense tells us that it did not make itself. That is logically impossible. Just this is enough information to make us accountable before God. Yet in His love He has taken another step and revealed Himself in a special way, through His Word. Even with this man still rebels against that revelation. We need more than just information about God. We need God! What is your response to God's revelation of Himself?

Being Human: What Happened and How God Fixed It
It is easy to look around at the world we live in and see that things are messed up. But it is not always easy to see why things are messed up. Today, in this second teaching on what it means to be human, we look at the historical and biblical record of what happened and then we see what steps God took to fix it.

Christ: The Mediator of All Things
We are going to take two weeks to look at John 1:3-5. In this part of the prologue of John we find two very important areas over which Christ is the mediator. 1. Christ is the mediator of all creation. 2. Christ is the mediator of all life including eternal life.

Being Human: What God Created Us to Be and Do
What does it mean to be human? It means different things to different people. But God has not left us guessing. In his revelation to us, he tells us what it means to be human by describing what we were created to be and to do.

God created
You wouldn't get very far if you used a phone book as a map – you'd be reading it the wrong way – using it for the wrong purpose. In the same way some scientists suggest that modern science ‘disproves’ Genesis 1 – but they're reading it with the wrong questions and for the wrong purpose. It's not a scientific description of creation but a carefully structured – almost poetic – introduction to the story of the whole Bible. And the main point is not how it was done but who did it. It introduces us to The God who made the world! God makes the world by his word, and rules it by his word. Genesis sets up a pattern for the rest of the Bible – God graciously speaks to reveal himself to his people and to order and shape them. We can track same idea through the whole Bible to the New Testament. The beginning of John’s gospel picks up this idea, and the very language of Gen 1: “In the beginning was the Word and the Word was with God and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.” John is talking about Jesus, who was actively involved in work of creation. In some senses he was the word that the Father spoke. And as we see Jesus walking the earth in the Gospels, we see the same pattern of speaking powerful words. In house group this week we saw Jesus healing a centurion’s servant by a word. This shows He is God. So if we want to get to know this God who made the World we need to know Jesus… by His word.
