The Cross that Conquers You: Just a Reminder
Easter is a story of authority. Of your good King Jesus conquering all your obstacles and all your enemies to free you from your past, bring joy to your present and give hope for your future. A group of Sadducees ask Jesus an unfair question. They poisoned the well by trapping into an emotional question about the painful loss of a family member. Death is the old story, the story we belonged to before Easter. Now because he lives, we truly live.

Easter Plain and Simple
What if you were driving down the highway when suddenly you are pulled over because you unknowingly caused a car wreck 200 miles earlier that resulted in a death? The same is true today: you are cruising down life's highway not realizing that you caused Christ's death on the cross 2000 years ago! The symbols of Easter, though some pagan by origin, point to the Biblical teaching that you participated in Christ's death way before you were even born. The Bible teaches that if you were united in Christ's death, that you will certainly be united in his resurrection. Easter points you all the way back to the cross, and all the way forward to eternal life with God!

Detours
We have opportunities in life to take our usual route or to follow God’s prompting to take a divine detour. But this detour will not be easy. It will require us to disadvantage ourselves so that we can help someone else. By exploring the parable of the Good Samaritan we see that he decided to take a divine detour on his highway of life. It was a detour that took risk, personal involvement, time and money— all things we often use as excuses not to act.

Resurrection Sunday
Your suffering is not in vain. Your heartbreak is not in vain. Your loss is not in vain. Your struggle is not in vain. Your past is not in vain. This day is not in vain. Your future is not in vain. God’s grace towards you is not in vain! Jesus swallowed our failure, shame, guilt, death, sin, and hell. Jesus became a man and lived our life and died our death to pay our penalty so that God could give us grace and welcome us in to His loving arms and say, “This is my boy, this is my girl, whom I love!” Happy Resurrection Sunday Kaleo. Let’s worship our King!
