Sermons about Crucified
At the heart of gospel-rooted living is a life of sacrifice for the good of others. The Apostle Paul declares that Christ lives in him and his is a crucified life, demonstrable by the whipping and stoning he suffered for the sake of spreading the gospel. Pastor Todd shows us through this passage of scripture what “conformity to the self-giving action of the Son of God” looks like, with encouragement to self-examination to see if our own lives conform to the shape of a cross.
Paul argues that Christians can longer live in sin because they are now dead to sin. When a person comes to faith in Jesus Christ, they must also realize that they are united into Christ's death, burial & resurrection. Christ's story now becomes the believer's story. And constantly thinking about this reality will enable every believer to continue to die to their "old self" and continue to "put on" their new self (Jesus Christ) so that they will constantly experience freedom from sin. Believers must realize that when they sin, this is not who they are IN CHRIST. This right thinking about who we are in Christ must be a regular exercise so that we will not be deceived by sin.
Do you equate spiritual maturity with Biblical knowledge? Today's sermon explores what it means to really be a mature Christian who knows "The Mind of Christ."
In today's message we take a detour along with Paul to point out the folly of man putting his slant on the Gospel. Learn how Paul proclaimed the Gospel to magnify God rather than himself and how his model still applies today.
