Sermons About Darkness
He is Light
Coming off of verse 11, Jesus is speaking now of the lights in the temple, where these men should have been instead of watching this womans sin just to catch her and trap the Savior. We see that jesus is saying the He is LIGHT. That everything outside of Him is darknes. Bro. Flatford does a great job preaching this message.

Conflict and Community: Saying No to God?
The impending doom of the cross is closing in on Jesus, so he cries to God out of the stress and fear of the darkness that lays before him. As he does, we are awed as we see the honesty and passion of Jesus’ prayer life. We are moved to worship as we see that the darkness he entered was the darkness of our own suffering, judgment, and struggles. We are called to enter into the darkness and suffering of those around us, seeking to cause the sun of God’s kingdom to rise higher over our communities and our city.

Indulging The Darkness
Millions of people today are destroying their lives by walking in spiritual and moral darkness. God’s call for us to leave the paths of darkness and to walk in the light of moral purity is not only consistent with our new identity, it also saves us from experiencing the ravaging effects of sin that not only impacts us, but also those who are dear to us. In a day of moral compromise, even among God’s people, this is a much-needed clarion call to come out of the shadows and walk in the light.
