Practice What We Preach
For 13 weeks many families at HFC have been going through Dave Ramsey's Financial Peace University. Families have paid down over $387,000 in consumer debt over those 13 weeks. Today's message is about "practicing what we preach". HFC's Finance Chair cut up the church credit card to show that church leadership is committed to leading the way to being free from debt.

Saying Isn't Believing
Proverbs 6:1-11 tells us how to get out of financial debt with what David Ramsey calls "Gazelle Intensity". This passion is motivated by fear of bondage. Rom 13:8 tells us we have another debt of love to God and people that can never be repaid. The passion to live out this debt is motivated by freedom in Christ! If 'Gazelle Intensity" is needed to break the bonds of financial debt motivated by bondage, then how much more "Gazelle Intensity" should Christ-followers have to live out our debt of love motivated by freedom? The hindrance to RUN in this freedom is either raw unbelief or spiritual slumber. This message examines these hindrances in two areas; talking to God and listening to God.

Greed and Grace
So much time is spent discussing our guilt for doing the things we knew we weren’t supposed to do. But little time is spent with our hearts broken over what He’s called us to do and be for Him. We’ve failed to do what God does and love what God loves. This has caused a great debt that has to be satisfied. If God owns everything, then you’re indebted to Him and Him alone.

Chasing the Almight - Free
A financially free person is free from things like worry and debt and free to enjoy what they have and be happy for others instead of being envious. But it's only when God becomes the highest value in my life, the absolute center of my universe that we realize it’s more important and more satisfying than anything money can offer.
