I must admit that I have never seen the TV show 'Desperate Housewives', and from what I've read about it, I don't think I ever want to. Anyway I don't need to, because there is a better version here in the Bible. Here in our text we have two desperate housewives: Leah and Rachel. One is desperate for love, the other is desperate for children.

The Confusing Path Toward Confident Faith
When we look to Jesus, we do not find the type of “trying harder†faith that is often suggested by well-meaning Christians. Instead, we find him teaching us about a faith that will face our situations. This is the kind of faith that pleases God. This is what Charles Spurgeon called “seeking faith.†Chaotic faith is marked by desperation. How does confident faith grow from the moment that we have called Chaotic faith?
