The Count Down to this World’s Destiny
The Count Down to this World’s Destiny Daniel Chapter Seven The setting: Rewind the clock to the first year of Belshazzar’s reign. Four beasts came up out of the Mediterranean Sea in the midst of a powerful storm representing 4 world empires Babylon Medo-Persian Grecian Roman What is the exact meaning of the forth beast? (verse 19) He was exceedingly dreadful, teeth of iron and claws of bronze. He devoured, crushed and trampled everything under his feet. The 10 horns represent 10 kingdoms. A little horn (king) will arise out of the 10 and subdue 3 kings. He will speak out against the Most High and wear down the saints. There are four names in the Bible for this person 1. “The Man of Lawlessness” 2 Thessalonians 2:1-10 2. “The Beast” Revelation 13:1-8 3. “The Antichrist” 1 John 2:18 4. “The Little Horn” Daniel 7:8 He is an intellectual genius (Dan. 8:23) oratorical genius (Dan.11:36) political genius (Rev. 17:11-12), commercial genius (Dan.11:43; Rev.13:16, 17), military genius (Rev: 6:2; 13:2), a religious genius (2 Thess. 2:4; Rev.13:8) Nothing is more dangerous than an evil genius! The “Ancient of Days” God the Father enters the world court as the Chief Justice of the Universe. (Verse 9-10) * He sat on a chariot throne * The books were opened before Him * He judged in favor of the saints and the beast was slain Jesus, the Son is welcomed by the “Ancient of Days” to receive His everlasting kingdom (verse 13, 14) * The saints of the Most High will receive the kingdom with Him and will possess it forever, yes forever and ever (verse 18,27)

It Only Works if You Drink It
It Only Works if You Drink It John 4: 1-42 v.14 “Whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.†When we meet, is it present? How can we tell? Do first time attenders experience it? Can it be programmed into our gatherings? Where can I buy it ? If it doesn’t show …well, why not? WHAT is it anyhow? It is not unusual that we come to God on a regular basis, yet seldom seem to experience the thirst quenching relationship that we want and that should be ours. Either there is a problem with the water or we are not drinking it. Here is a woman that responds immediately and completely to a brief encounter with Jesus? She not only changes, but because of her response her city is changed. What did she do that we don’t? 1. An awareness of and a willingness to address the thirst within. v.15 “Sir give me this water that I may never thirst, nor come here to draw.†2. A willingness to change priorities when confronted with a solution. v.28 “And the woman then left her water pot and went her way….†3. A willingness of personal exposure for the sake of something greater. v.29 “Come and see a Man that told me all things that I ever did.†v.39 “And many of the Samaritans of that city believed in Him because of the word of the woman….†A wise person chooses a destiny and accepts the road. A foolish person chooses a road and accepts the destiny.

Destiny
Our souls crave lives of purpose and significance that ultimately can only come from God. “We cannot live the life of our dreams without an irrational sense of destiny. And all of us have our dreams. More than that, all of us need our dreams. Some of us sadly are sleeping through them. All of us long to become something more than we are. We are driven to achieve, moved to accomplish, fueled by ambition. It burns hotter in some than in others, but it is within all of us. We’re all searching for our unique purpose, our divine destiny, or simply a sense of siginificance or some measure of success.†-Erwin McManus, Soul Cravings
