In these verses we can clearly see the grace of Abraham in dealing with Lot, and in contrast we can see the troubling decisions that Lot makes which are self centred.
The Bible makes some wonderful promises to those who would follow Christ: abundant life, peace, hope, and strength just to name a few. The problem is far too many Christians are not experiencing this. The reason for this is that too many of us expect our Christian growth and development to occur automatically. However, the Bible simply does not teach this. Spiritual life is available to the Christian, but it's not automatic. John 10:10; Matt 7:24-28; 1 Pet 5:8; Matt 3:13-4:11; Gen 3; 2 Pet 1:3-11
The scriptures don't promise us a problem-free life. But scripture DOES make wonderful promises of protection from disaster for those who walk in convenant with God.

Prayer has always been an integral part of life for the people of God... While prayer will always involve some mystery (or else we have fashioned an idol) it is worthy of our study, investigation, and most certainly the application of it to our. Unfortunately some people often say "I'm too busy to pray" or "I intended to spend more time in prayer today but then ______ happened" or something similar to those. I should know - I have thought them myself... Yet for a Christian, prayer is to be a way of life. And since this is true there is a better question to ask than "How does prayer work?" What is it? Genesis chapter 3 is one of the saddest chapters in the Bible. Doubt leads to disobedience which leads to disaster. But God in His mercy always provides deliverance, even when we have gone astray.
