Sermons About Disasters
The Impact on Creation
When we watch or read the news and hear about all of the natural disasters like tsunamis, hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, etc. we sometimes wonder why. Why does God allow these things to happen. Sometimes we even blame God for their occurrence. Is there any other explanation? Why do they many times seem to be more and more frequent and even more severe? Is it all natural causes? How God lost control? Are they God's judgment on wicked people? When sin entered into God's creation here on earth it was like dropping a very large rock in the middle of a small pond. Adam, the point of impact, was not the only one affected; but the ripples began being felt throughout all creation including nature.

God Is Righteous
How do you explain all the disasters and calamities happening quite increasingly around the globe these days? Are these events ‘acts of God’? Or, do you simply dismiss them as a result of sin—that they are fulfilling prophecy and will only get worse until Jesus comes again? Yes and No. It goes way beyond that. When we hear about disasters, fires, earthquakes, cyclones—any type of calamity—we acknowledge the presence and destruction of Sin, as well as the existence and mercy of an all powerful God. It all comes back to the Righteous One: Jesus!
