Sermons About Disciple
Jesus the Foundation of Genuine Faith
Jesus Christ is the cornerstone of our faith. Everything we do is built and founded upon who He is and what He has done for us on the cross. In light of this we are called with the same command that Jesus repeated throughout His ministry on earth to the people He encountered: “follow me.†People can stumble over the idea of following Jesus for a number of reasons. Some people don’t believe in the supernatural, some don’t want to admit that they are sinners in need of salvation, and others consider the cost of following Christ as too high. Those that do follow though are being built up into a spiritual house that honors Him by praising and serving Him.

Becoming a Jesus Apprentice
What is a disciple? Jesus didn't say "go and make believers of all nations", He said, "Go and make disciples of all nations." If all we aim for is believers, then that is all we will get. Challenging us to aim for something much greater.

What Kind of Follower Are You?
Your purpose and meaning in life is in being a follower of Christ. In Luke 14, Jesus makes a distinction between followers that just ‘go along’ and followers that He refers to as “disciplesâ€. Which one are you? Here He offers a test to help you to figure out what kind of follower you are—If you ‘hate’ your family and even yourself, you pass the test! The point He makes is that you be willing to give up the things or people you hold dear to yourself for His sake if you want to be one of His disciples.

Be Steadfast
As followers of Christ, we are not called to live a minimal life where we just get by with doing what is required of us to be right with God. God, through pen of Paul, calls us to a much higher standard of abounding beyond the requirement and staying steadfast as we rejoice in a King who has conquered death through His resurrection.

Follow The Leader
Jesus calls his people effectually from every walk of life to follow Him. At the same time we must come to Christ and follow after Him, heeding His call unto eternal life. We love Him because He first loved us. Soli Deo Gloria.

The Bread of Life (John 6:22-71)
Jesus says he can provide a bread that will sustain us, giving life to the world and giving us eternal life. But he draws a strong reaction from the crowd when he explains that it is his own body that is this bread. We see that Jesus is speaking of believing in him; to believe in Jesus is to eat this bread. But we see as well that eternal life comes at the cost of our own desires; we must give ourselves to Jesus.
